Edible Displays

With a boost of creativity from catering suppliers, more people are open to turning food into art. It provides a "WOW" factor for any party, whether it is a children's birthday party, new store opening or a wedding reception.

According to Dorothy Rugira, Event Manager at Canary Wharf's East Wintergarden, "Catering suppliers will continue to push creative boundaries by conjuring up stunning visual displays that naturally becoming a talking point and an interactive spot to gravitate towards at events."

Kidbay Parties Catering takes out clients through different layers of creativity to design a party food display to seriously impress their guests.

Grazing tables

Grazing tables have long been in fashion in New Zealand and Australia, but only recently made its way to the UK. That happened thanks to a creative mind of Toria Smith who started the craze in London by styling her own wedding food in a form of a grazing table back in 2017.

Grazing tables are a beautiful alternative to a more traditional buffet. It is a colorful display of food, plants and flowers, often layered on different stands, boxes and boards to create more depth to the table.

DISPLAYS ARE MADE MADE UP OF LOCALLY SOURCED PRODUCE INCLUDING SPECIALTY CHEESES, CURED MEATS, ANTIPASTI, DIPS, LOCALLY BAKED BREAD, CRACKERS AND CHUTNEY, DRIED FRUITS, NUTS, SWEET TREATS.

The trend caught on and since then some of the most influential and vibrant companies and celebrities have been entertaining their guests around beautiful displays of fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese platters and finest meats. Facebook, Instagram and Etsy parties have impressed their guests with layers of colorful party food arranged around fresh flowers for an additional WOW factor.

Tom Hardy's, Alan Sugar's and Davina Mccall's parties featured few meters long grazing tables.

Dessert tables

Whether it is a children's party or an grown up celebration, the dessert tables and candy bars are certain to impress. The possibilities here are endless for a creative mind. Kidbay Parties dessert catering menu includes home made cakes, muffins, doughnuts, biscuits, pancakes, candies, lollipops.

An award-winning cake designer Rosaling Miller told Cosmopolitan magazine that there are two main reasons for the popularity of the dessert tables:

“Firstly, they make a huge impact – whether they’re large and overflowing or minimal and spread out – creating a lot of visual interest with different elements and heights.

“Secondly, they’re extremely versatile; they provide an array of different dessert options for guests to try and come back to. They also offer an opportunity to provide gluten-free and vegan options too, or something sweet for guests who don’t like cake.”
